Mining Lease Application (MLA530) submitted
The Team at SMA are pleased to announce that on the 27th June 2016 Strategic Metals Australia Pty Ltd (ACN: 167 122 714) submitted a Mining Lease Application over the White Rock Tungsten deposit, located outside of Rye Park NSW.
The proposed Mining Lease Application area is within Exploration Licence No 6274 (“EL 6274”) also held by SMA.
The deposit consists of shallow flat lying upper and lower tungsten and tin bearing skarns surrounded by limestone lenses with a granite floor. The tungsten predominantly occurs as scheelite, either disseminated or in veins with possible accessory magnetite.
The average depth of the deposit is approximately 20 meters below the surface with previous resource reports of 261,000 tonnes at 0.7% WO3 and 0.15% SnO2 (JORC inferred).
SMA plans to carry out a small open cut mining operation to extract Scheelite and Magnetite from the White Rock Deposit.
